LEVEL 5 COUNSELLOR SUPERVISION TRAINING

The Supervision course we offer is the CPCAB Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in Supervision, in conjunction with Manna House, Northampton.

Who is the course for?

The course is for counsellors who have at least 2 years post-diploma experience and have completed at least 450 counselling hours, and who wish to train to be a Supervisor.

How long is the course?

There are four stages, of two days each, to be held on the following dates:

Stage 1: 6/7th July 2017
Stage 2: 14/15th September 2017
Stage 3: 16/17th November 2017
Stage 4:  January 2018 – dates to be confirmed

Where is the course taking place?

The course will be held at Manna House, 73 Giles St, Northampton NN1 1JF with experienced tutors from both Manna House and The Light House, Coventry.

What will I be Taught?

The basic model of Supervision taught on the course is the Page & Wosket Cyclical Model but students are also introduced to other models as part of the training. In addition, students will learn about the challenges, pitfalls and rewards associated with moving from being a Counsellor to a Supervisor, as well as some of the practicalities of working as a Supervisor.

Sessions are interactive, supported by Powerpoint slides and a detailed handbook. Students will work in small groups which will include some role-playing. Students should be aware that this is a Level 5 qualification, meaning that it needs to be of an academic standard equivalent to University Degree work. For this course there is a requirement for 5 essays of 3,000 words each as well as a case study  of 3,000 words. In addition a learning Journal and a reading reflection is required as part of the final portfolio, All work will be assessed by Tutors and also sent for external verification by CPCAB before the Diploma is awarded.

Who Accredits the Course?

The course is accredited by the Counselling & Psychotherapy Awarding Body, CPCAB.

What does it Cost?

The course fee is £1250, including the CPCAB Registration fee. A deposit of £250 is required at the time of booking, and the balance may be paid in instalments at each stage session. Note that the deposit is non-returnable, except if we are unable to run the course.
